HOW THIS ROLE SUPPORTS OUR VISION
In order for a US apparel manufacturer to compete in the global supply chain, we must combine unprecedented speed and agility with innovation and technology. We must not just focus on strong operations but we must look to the future to inform how we use semi automation, the engineering design process, and continuous improvement efforts to create new machinery, jigs, assists that will enable new levels of speed, agility, and efficiencies. Our R&D technicians, engineers, and innovation team lead these efforts. This role applies puts your technical expertise to work to prevent waste and increase efficiencies throughout our manufacturing and production processes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This position is responsible for preventing waste and increasing efficiencies throughout our manufacturing and production processes. Your suggestions for machine design, production layout and other continuous improvements will propel our future growth. You will also:

Help minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality and on time delivery targets.

Design, develop and maintain manufacturing lines to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and space.

Ensure the company complies with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines.

Set manufacturing standards through methods analysis.
-
Observe challenges, bottlenecks, and pain points and generate feedback, and multiple perspectives to build buy in and a culture of change.

Measure individual operator efficiency against manufacturing standards.

Suggest methods, machinery, machine configurations, and line design that could improve throughput, work flow, efficiency, and quality.

Work on machine layout and line design for line changeovers.

Provide day to day support to Production teams.

Track and analyze key production metrics. Suggest investments and improvements.

Support transition to lean manufacturing and module-based Toyota Sewing System (TSS).

And any other related task that the supervisor deems to be necessary.

and have the following qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Minimum 3-5 years in apparel or footwear manufacturing setting.

Creativity to think of new systems, processes, and methods.

Math skills to understand complex mathematical analysis, calculus, and math for design and troubleshooting.

Mechanical skills to understand mechanical concepts and processes easily, as well as use equipment and tools to generate continuous improvements.

Problem-solving to develop new solutions to problems, identify the source of the problem and create and test solutions.

Teamwork to understand bottlenecks, pain points, and challenges in order to develop systems and create solutions.

Listening skills to understand multiple perspectives and insights from workers, teammates and management.

Communication skills to communicate your plans, thoughts, and rationale.

Project management to manage time, supplies, personnel and company resources.

Bilingual – English and Spanish.
